I write stories to give voice to those whose chronicles are most often relegated to the last five minutes of a news slot - if their narratives are addressed at all. By speaking of and for them I hope to elevate their tales and add a sense of normalcy and dignity to lives usually dismissed as being less worthy of empathy and respect.
